Drone Harmony just rolled out a powerful update for DJI Dock users—and it’s all about making automated and manual drone flights smarter and safer through enhanced geo zone handling. This release fully synchronizes geofences and no-fly zones with the drone. It gives operators greater peace of mind and tighter control over where their drones can go—even in manual mode or emergency return-to-home (RTH) scenarios.




What’s New?

Geofence Sync with the Drone Operators can now sync geofences and no-fly zones directly to the drone itself. These zones are no longer just visual guides on the map — they’re actual flight restrictions that the drone will obey in real-time. Whether flying a pre-planned mission or controlling the drone manually, these synced zones are enforced at the firmware level.


Why It Matters

Geozones are critical for ensuring flight safety:

  • Geofences define the safe operational area around the dock.

  • No-fly zones mark off dangerous or sensitive areas like chimneys, antennas, or restricted infrastructure.


In the past, these zones were respected during automated missions but not enforced during manual control or emergency return-to-home flights. With this update, synced geo zones are always respected, preventing the drone from accidentally entering risky airspace.

How to Enable Geozone Sync

Enabling geo zone sync is simple but essential:

  1. Navigate to the Telemetry Tab in the dock interface.

  2. Enter Debug Mode (a few clicks required).

  3. Enable Geozone Sync.


⚠️ Note: Syncing may take up to a minute — be patient and wait for confirmation.


What It Looks Like in Action

Picture this: a drone is mid-mission when you initiate RTH. The shortest route home cuts through a no-fly zone. Instead of flying through it, the drone detects the restriction and calculates a safe path around it, returning safely to the dock without compromise.
